Delete your data
Last updated 8 October 2026
To delete your Clippy account and everything we hold about you, open Clippy, click ☁ in the top bar, open Workspace & account, type "delete my account" and click Delete my account. It happens straight away; our encrypted backups age out within 30 days.
Or email [email protected] from the address you sign in with, with the subject "Delete my Clippy account". We confirm by email, and the deletion is complete within 30 days, backups included.
To download a copy first: the same section, Download all my data.
What gets deleted
- Your account, your email address and your sign-in sessions.
- Your workspaces and everything synced in them: transcripts, hook cards, cuts and their history, captions and your posting calendar.
- The connections to your YouTube, Instagram, Threads and TikTok accounts, including their access tokens.
- Clips and thumbnails stored for scheduled posts, and posts still waiting to go out.
- Your waitlist entry, if you have one.
Video and renders on your Mac are not touched. They are your files; delete them in Finder if you want them gone.
Posts that were already published stay on each platform until you delete them there.
Stop syncing a Mac
In Clippy, open ☁ in the top bar and choose "Unlink this Mac". The Mac stops syncing and its access is revoked. Your files stay on the Mac, and your workspace stays on your account.
Remove Clippy's access to a platform
You can do this at any time, from the platform itself, without contacting us:
- YouTube: remove Clippy at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Instagram: Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites → Clippy → Remove.
- Threads: Settings → Account → Website permissions → Clippy → Remove.
- TikTok: Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Apps and services permissions → Clippy → Remove.
Removing access stops Clippy from using that account straight away. To also delete what we stored about the connection, open ☁ → Accounts in Clippy and click Disconnect: the stored token is deleted at once.
